Veronica is an amazing baby nurse. We felt like we could trust her from the moment we met her. On a personal level, she is warm and energetic and intelligent. Professionally, she is incredibly experienced and holds multiple certifications (as a Doula, Newborn Care Specialist and Home Health Aide, just to name a few). Our son was born 3 months prematurely and came home from the hospital needing to be handled carefully during feedings, as he had a tendency to choke badly and hold his breath at times. Veronica is a lactation specialist, and it was very comforting to have her sitting by my side for some of those early breastfeeding sessions at home (we were always monitored by nurses at the hospital). She also fed him bottles of my breast milk at night with his prescribed vitamins so my husband and I could get some much-needed rest. We were very nervous about having anyone else feed the baby at first, since he needed to be “paced” in a specific way, but Veronica is experienced with preemies and we were relieved to see how easily and lovingly she handled the task. Veronica also held our son upright after those middle-of-the-night feedings to help him with his reflux, which was a huge help. I also have to mention that one of the best things we learned from Veronica was how to give an infant massage. It’s such a loving way to bond with our baby and our son loves it! My husband and I highly recommend Veronica if you’re looking for a postpartum doula/baby nurse. In the weeks leading up to our daughter’s arrival, Veronica coached us in birthing techniques and educated us in the stages of Labor. Veronica is an outstanding baby care provider. My 16 week old twins fell in love with her instantly. We hired her after weeks of attempting to sleep train and get them on a schedule to no avail. Within one night, she had them and us running like clockwork. She is a true professional and takes her job seriously. Each night she came in, cleaned bottles, set up what she needed, and sent my husband and myself off to much needed sleep. It was wonderful going to bed knowing someone was going to take care of my girls the way I would do myself She is a baby whisper and our own Mary Poppins. My girls have gone from fussing throughout the night, to just needing a quick bottle after 8 hours of sleep. She also took care of me. My wife recently gave birth to our first child, a beautiful baby girl. Unfortunately, her pregnancy was not such a beautiful thing. My wife suffered from Hyper emesis gravid arum; severe and debilitating nausea and vomiting. She was in constant pain and discomfort for the entire 9 months. Needless to say, she (and 1) were exhausted by the time she was ready to give birth. As an added bonus, at the last minute, my wife required an emergency C-section. It was, of course, all worth it in the end, as we are madly in love with our daughter and wouldn’t trade her for the world. Unfortunately, the rough pregnancy and delivery left both of us drained. We were so excited to spend time with our child, but were also worried about being able to get the much needed sleep my wife needed to recover now that she could finally get through an entire night without becoming severely ill. We were extremely fortunate to have Veronica join us as we finally came home from the hospital. Veronica was extremely understanding and knowledgeable about my wife’s condition, on top of her extensive baby knowledge. She was as concerned for my wife’s well being and recovery as she was for our daughter. Her warm personality immediately put us at ease, and her years of experience with babies quickly became apparent as she used her magic touch to calm our baby girl and get her to sleep 3 and 4 hour stretches at a time almost immediately. She truly is a ‘baby whisperer. I am a very private person, and was concerned about having a new person stay in our home with us, particularly when we wanted to spend as much time bonding with the baby as possible. Veronica was very sensitive to the situation and made it clear without any prompting from us whatsoever that she respects and values our privacy greatly, and would give us as much space as we wanted and needed, while still being there to help with the baby and guide us in the care for our child. Any potential concerns were soon allayed, as she quickly became like another member of the family. Instead of feeling the presence of an outsider, we genuinely enjoyed our time with Veronica, even after the baby had been put to bed. Her patient explanations and demonstrations for all things baby care related really put us at ease, as we were definitely in the ‘I don’t think I know what I’m doing’ camp. Where do I begin? Veronica started this journey with us at Cedars in the delivery room as my birth doula. She helped me relax with various massage techniques, coached me on breathing and her constant smile was such a reassurance through the whole birthing process. We also had the pleasure of having Veronica stay in our home for a week 24 hours a day helping my husband and I adjust to life with a newborn around the clock. As a first time breast-feeding mom, I could not have asked for a better experience. She helped me figure out different techniques in assisting my newborn boy with his latch. She gave us massages, helped out with laundry and kitchen duties. But the best thing Veronica did was care for our son with tender hands, gentle touches, and soothing words. She is a gem and is full of so much “baby” knowledge. We learned baby massage from Veronica and various other things to help us care for our baby better. She would sit with me on those first few frustrating, long nights of breast-feeding and keep me company, always making me feel good when my self-esteem was low. We had the pleasure of working with Veronica Stang for two weeks. We called her to help us with our baby boy who wasn’t sleeping at night. He was waking at least 4-5 times a night. By the end of two weeks with Veronica, our baby was waking only twice a night and now two weeks later (continuing with the schedule she set for him) he’s waking only once a night. We could have never done this without her. We were very clear with Veronica that we didn’t want our baby to “cry it out” in order to “train” him to sleep through the night. She never left him alone and she was so caring and loving. The transition for him was done in a very gentle way and we were extremely pleased with her methods. Our baby had a huge smile every night when Veronica walked in the door. We were a bit nervous about handing him off at night, but after the first night we knew he was in great hands. She treated him as he were her own child. We felt at ease right away. At the end of the two weeks we were so sad to see Veronica go. Not only has she been great with Ella, she’s been great with us as first time parents. We’ve had two opportunities to work with Veronica. First as a night Baby Nurse/doula during the first weeks after we brought Ella home from the hospital, and subsequently for occasional night and/or day time care of Ella over the next four months as we adjusted to new personal and work schedules. Veronica has a wonderful way about her that really shines through when she’s with our daughter”. Warm and caring and tremendously energetic and fun. She worked wonders when it came to soothing Ella and helping establish a good routine with her. We also learned a lot from Veronica Such as how to give a good baths and Baby Massage, as well as other techniques for calming our energetic little girl. She would tirelessly put on “the show” for Ella, much to her delight. If Ella was having a bad night, Veronica would never give up trying to soothe her. She would do her best to figure out what the problem was. She kept going long after both Jen and I would have been exhausted. As time permitted, Veronica would help us keep the house in order too, washina Ella’s clothes and bottles and tidvina up her nursery. We don’t have family in town so we’re pretty much on our own here. So we feel very lucky to have met Veronica and she has quickly become someone we trust with our daughter, and someone that we can see Ella is comfortable with. When personal or work issues have come up, or we’re both simply exhausted and on the verge of becoming zombies, we know that if we call Veronica she’ll do everything she can to help us out of a jam, even if that means rearranging her own schedule to do so. Veronica was a great partner to us as we worked together to learn Ella’s personality and needs. She would always consider our preferences first and try to work with Ella in a way that was consistent with our own, But it was also great to be able to rely on her experience. In some ways she really helped us become more confident parents. Personally, Veronica is fun to talk to and spend time with in our home. I called Veronica the day I came back home after c-section. I was in so much pain with my swollen feet I was not able to get up from the bed. I was in tears when I called her because I had no help at home. Veronica was so kind and nice, she came right away. Her massage made me able to walk within 4 days. She also taught me how to bath the baby, swaddle the baby, and techniques to calm down the baby she is also a great cook (taught her Indian cuisine and she picked very fast). She is very professional, kind hearted, and caring. The value of Veronica’s time and teaching was invaluable to us. I can’t say enough good things about her. Veronica is very kind and caring and wonderful with the babies in her care. She even went on coloring my hair because I was unable to get out my apartment. She is a great person, like a mother. We had the great privilege of having Veronica in our home for the past 6 weeks. We have a 12 week old baby and we were looking for a Doula who could assist us in taking care of our infant at night (so we could get a little of sleep) and educating us on techniques to best care or our baby. Veronica not only met those needs, but instantly became a part of our family. Veronica is a very knowledgeable and caring person and we always felt extremely comfortable with our baby in her care. Veronica provided us with a chart to track our feedings, naps, and diaper changing. It is valuable tool that we continue to use every day. Veronica also taught us Baby Massage techniques. We have found that this is a unique way to bond with our baby and she truly seems to enjoy the experience. Veronica is not only a Baby Massage therapist, but she was gracious enough to give me massages as well. Taking this time to relax was so important, as it helped me sleep and feel well rested to be present for my baby. I found Veronica and her team when my baby girl was two weeks old. Reasonably new to America and with a Husband who travels for work regularly I was overwhelmed and sleep deprived and not coping well with the demands of a newborn. She was the first and only person I met with. Within five minutes of meeting her and explaining my situation, I am not ashamed to admit, I was crying. She put her arms around me and was so kind and genuine in her concern, I immediately felt better. I signed a contract that day, I admit, I was apprehensive at first; my Husband and I are both private people and the thought of someone staying with us overnight; especially in charge of our baby, was new for both of us but within a couple of days any fears we had were gone. Veronica is a wonderful balance of maintaining utter professionalism while feeling like a friend; the few extra hours sleep and time with my Husband was wonderful and I started to feel human again! I am learning so much from Veronica; feeding, bathing, massage and the bond between my daughter and I has got stronger. I am able to find joy in my time with her whereas before I was too tired and stressed to focus. With Veronica’s services, I have recovered from a difficult pregnancy, both physically and mentally, and now feel confident in my abilities to parent my baby and give her the best of me. We also hired Veronica for sleep training; my daughter now sleeps nine to ten hours every night and has a great schedule. We hired Ms. Veronica Hinojosa-Stang as our Infant Specialist and Twins sleep trainer. Veronica provided great care to my kids and us as parents. We were desperate to get a handle on our twins' sleep schedule. They were getting up every couple of hours to feed and not always at the same time which was really difficult to navigate especially with our own work schedules. Veronica gave us so much more than peace of mind that we would sleep and that she would take great care of our twins--she really helped us focus our efforts and get the twins on a routine that carried over into the day as well as night! Within the first couple of weeks she taught us the basics about feeding, sleeping and trying to get a rhythm. By two months of age, the babies were already starting to sleep longer stretches at night and take longer naps during the day with more predictable feeding thanks to her direction. She expertly tailored her recommendations to our kids' needs--our daughter was a little smaller than our son, so she had parallel but different routines that made life so much easier. Our kids are now 3 months old and we are sadly coming to the end of our time with Veronica, but our family has gained so much. Our kids are only needing one overnight feed which feels so much more manageable and we have a steady plan to let them sleep through the night as they grow a little bigger. Veronica took a personal interest in our kids and our well being as parents. She is affectionate with all of our family, very supportive of how difficult parenting can be and always had a positive attitude even in the face of mistakes and struggle. Her energy was lovely to have in the home and I know my kids are loved. I'll miss our nightly huddles with her about how the day went and about the game plan for the next day. She definitely kept us as parents involved with the sleep training and has helped us plan for the future even after she moves on to help the next family. This is to recommend Veronica Hinojosa-Stang for a baby nurse/doula position and Infant sleep trainer. Veronica was with us for three weeks. She is a problem solving, type A personality, with concern for the infant and family. Always willing to listen and work together to fit the family's needs. She has been a very good resource for information about breastfeeding, bottles, general baby care and nutrition. Our 4.5 month-old baby stopped taking bottles and it was clear after several weeks of trying that we needed a professional. This was our second child, so we thought it would be easier, but despite what they say, it was the opposite and having Veronica for several weeks at our house really changed things. I felt that I could ask Veronica all sorts of questions on baby and non-baby issues with her expertise and life experience. Anytime I had a concern or issue she would address it right away or work with us to resolve it. This job is not just about having credentials but having genuine love for babies and families and passion for helping others. She was flexible, understanding, but also assertive enough to help us get up on our feet and have more confidence to handle the fussy baby. And Veronica really tried to honor our specific requests and needs every time. At the end of a week, our baby was back on the bottle, but work was not yet done, as there is always a chance she could regress and go back so easily to breast and refuse it. (Since it happened before.) Veronica made certain she would stay on the bottle and for my husband and I to be able to do the job. It took us another few weeks for our family to finally have the confidence and certainty. And by then our baby's schedule was more definite and she was sleeping much better during the day and night. A few things that made Veronica different from other help that we had, was that she was able to multi-task so easily and professionally without asking too many questions. She took charge in a lot of areas, all the while being open to our needs. It was pretty clear from the start that this was all about baby and the bottle. The goal was to get her back on the bottle. But she was able to alleviate some other issues, such as making sure baby was happy, getting plenty of walks and outside time, exercise, fun bath time, affection in the household - which correlates to happier baby and a better sleeper. She was giving me a lot of encouragement to get out of the house, as well as to show more affection and - a little bit of life advice and coaching me on the side. And she was not pushy – like my mother could be! On top of all this, she had simultaneously sleep trained the baby without much effort - it is now up to us to keep it going! None of this was a walk in the park - especially for a severely sleep deprived mom that has to manage the household with a baby and a toddler. During the time she was here, I had a chance to get some fresh air, rest, run errands, to think better and plan better, have a better mindset for managing other things as well as our baby. Her life experience and with babies over the years, coupled with her personality makes her easy to work with. The job can be highly stressful, as it is physically and mentally challenging, repetitive work. However, Veronica was able to do all of it very thoroughly and lovingly. She showed us how to properly clean those bottle nipples (oops), made us realize baby has to fit into the family's schedule and life, not the other way around, and that I needed to be a little more flexible and more relaxed in general and around baby. I'm glad we chose Veronica to do the job. I believe she has good people/family experience to know what's best for each family. Don't expect a miracle or perfection from the start. I could not have gotten to where I am now, without Veronica's help. To sum it up simply, Veronica is professional, trustworthy, and caring. We called Veronica Hinojosa-Stang when our little one was about 1.5 months old and I was sleep deprived, depressed and felt hopeless. I was looking forward having a Baby Sleep Coach or Baby sleep trainer and a Doula who would support me. We found Veronica she is amazing! She is so professional and knowledgeable! I assumed that having a Master's degree in psychology and working with elementary school aged children would give me enough experience to take care of a baby, but I underestimated the intensity of the situation. I tried to seek advice from family members and friends to no avail; I continued to struggle getting only 1-2 hours of non-consecutive sleep; I was stuck in a downward spiral and it was taking its toll. Veronica came in like a breath of fresh air; she helped organize and establish a healthy routine for us to follow that gave our home predictability and security. I began to feel confident in my ability to care for our baby and the fog of sleep deprivation had finally lifted into something much more manageable. I appreciated Veronica's understanding and reassurance when I was at my lowest. My only regret is that I didn't contact Veronica sooner. I hired Veronica as my Postpartum Doula and Twins Specialist knowing that the baby nurse that I had hired to help me had to cancel at the last minute due to a family emergency, I did some research and found Veronica's contact information online and called her right away. Veronica answered my phone call and came over to meet me that same day. I felt relieved and reassured as soon as I met Veronica and sat with her, she had a lot of experience with twins and so many credentials that I felt very comfortable and hired her on the spot. Veronica even gave me a list of the baby products and gear that I would need at the beginning. Veronica was at home and settled before I arrived from the hospital. I felt that I could relax and recover from my c section knowing that the babies were in capable hands. Veronica fed, bathed and took care of everything that had to do with the babies. I even got weekly massages from her which were very relaxing. Before she left Veronica made sure that she explained everything she was doing so I could feel comfortable caring for my twins after she left, she also taught me how to give a baby massage to help with gas problems. She followed up with me more frequently as my due date arrived. Ty was our third child and really wanted the help at night so we could still be wonderful parents to our little girls. This was very, very important to us. Veronica was a very, very caring and supportive baby nurse. She worked with not only me in feeling better, getting adequate rest, helping me with scheduling Tyson, breastfeeding him....the list is endless! My husband and I recently had our first baby! We reached out to Veronica to assist with the transition of bringing our new baby home and to help with my postpartum recovery. Veronica has been absolutely amazing Postpartum Doula. On our first night home from the hospital she was extremely understanding of our exhaustion and anxiety of having a new baby. She eased my concerns and was extremely reassuring. She has taught us so much about being new parents and is absolutely wonderful with our baby boy! She began working for us as our Postpartum Doula and Newborn Care Specialist the day we brought our daughter home from the hospital. She has been a staple at our house ever since, working everyday for the first two weeks and every-other night a week and—never once missing a scheduled day or arriving late. Veronica is currently responsible for caring for baby Carson and has gotten her on a steady sleep/wake/feed schedule. Her covering Newborn-Care Specialists are just as well-recommended as Veronica herself. When we needed extra help, her covering team-member integrated into our family’s routine perfectly, as they are trained under Veronica and practice the same philosophies. Baby Carson’s schedule continued without a problem. Of Veronica’s strengths, her greatest is her knowledge as a newborn care specialist, Sleep-Trainer, and Doula. She devotes her full attention to making sure Carson was on the right track to healthy sleep habits right from the womb. While I could speak volumes about Veronica from both a personal and professional level, I’ll let my kids do the talking instead. My son (4) talks about her like she is a valued family member, and that’s exactly what she is. Every night, my son looks forward to giving Veronica a warm hug goodnight. Anyone who owns multiple dogs knows how loud and rambunctious they can get when someone arrives. Some people may shrink in fear from the barking, but Veronica is unphased. She has shown nothing but fondness to my fur babies and often helps with letting them out for their potty breaks. We originally hired one of Veronica's assistants as our Postpartum Doula, to start on a Monday, but when I came home from the hospital I was in major need of a lactation specialist due to engorgement so I called Veronica. She was able to at the last minute rearrange her schedule to come help us that Saturday night. When she first got here she started with a massage, since she is a certified massage specialist, while I painfully pumped to give me some relief and help release my milk. I couldn't believe within one night with Veronica my breast were better. The next thing she really helped with was my little one's sucking and latch because she had problems with her tongue. Veronica finger fed her and within a couple nights she had her sucking coordination perfected! Overall we would highly recommend Veronica as your Postpartun Doula and Lactation Educator because without her nurturing postpartum care, lactation, and baby nurse skills our transition home would have never been so smooth.

Her education class before the birth was amazing - I learned so much through that class that I still remember much of it today. Her Doula services during the birth were I like anything I’ve ever witnessed or have been a part of - as a father, that was an incredible experience! And then her post-Partum support helped my wife with nursing and getting much needed sleep. Her baby nurse help was second to none! We were treated like royalty. Offering Veronicas services as a gift to my wife was the greatest thing I could have given her and she was so grateful for the support and the education. My #1 tip for new Moms - GET A BABY NURSE! After spending 8 days in the hospital, I came home to an angel named Veronica who has expended endless amounts of energy on taking care of me and my baby. Veronica was here and from the moment she walked in the door, she brought an air of calm, energy and positivity to our home. She helped us with everything regarding the baby but also took great care of Mommy which was really key in getting my strength back. Veronica is very professional and has an amazing commitment to the health and wellbeing of a baby and her mother. She has helped me feed her, burp her, change her... she has cooked, cleaned, shopped for food and baby supplies, given me heavenly massages and kept me informed, educated and most important - showered! I don't care if you have to take out a second mortgage on your house to pay for it - it's worth it! Veronica was with us throughout our whole journey as new parents - from pre-natal visits, birth doula, labor and delivery and postpartum doula... She is now such a big part of our lives and I cannot recommend her highly enough. We interviewed many doulas and were looking for someone with stellar credentials and recommendations. As first time parents, We were looking for a birth doula and we were eager to learn everything about labor and delivery as I wanted to have a natural birth. We also, wanted to find a postpartum doula who could not only give the best care to our newborn, but teach us the best ways to do everything. Veronica's resume, experience and references stood out from all of the all of the other doulas we interviewed; but just as important as the credentials on paper, we immediately felt comfortable and at ease with Veronica. It was a huge bonus that we could use her for both our birth doula and our postpartum doula. There is something magical about going through the whole journey from beginning to end with the same person. Veronica came to our home for private prenatal visits. It's so important to feel comfortable with someone who is going to take part in such an intimate time of life and my husband and I felt completely free with Veronica. She taught us everything from different exercises to train the body for labor to positions and massage techniques. She didn't take over my husband's role but taught him how to be the best support for me. My birth experience didn't go quite as planned as I needed to be induced and had a long, hard labor with medical interventions that weren't expected. It was very comforting to have Veronica with us during this trying time and luckily, we were able to give birth to a beautiful, healthy baby girl. It was so comforting to come home to Veronica as we already had such a bond with her from the birth experience. The first few weeks after birth are exhausting and having the support of a baby expert in our home was priceless. Veronica is truly the baby whisperer. From soothing a crying baby to bathing, dressing, swaddling (nobody can swaddle like Veronica), and getting the baby to sleep; Veronica has the magic touch. If you have the opportunity to hire Veronica as your doula, you will be very happy. The only regret you will have is not being able to have her with you for a longer amount of time.
